styling experience

It all begins with a click of a button. After you’ve made an appointment, you will be greeted by our friendly staff when you enter the boutique. From there, we pair you with a stylist to help you find the perfect fit that compliments your personality. Splash with accessories and visit our shoe collection to complete your look.

For teens that qualify, your garments and accessories are free of charge.

To maintain inventory for all those in need, we limit your visit to the boutique to three times per year. Thank you for your understanding.

GUIDELINES

  • Teens must be currently enrolled in high school and must present a valid school ID card or other proof of current enrollment.

  • To receive complimentary styling services, teens must be eligible for the free or reduced lunch program, or be referred to us by a school or community service leader (ie: social worker, school counselor, teacher, youth group leader). When you arrive for your appointment, bring your letter from one of the listed community members above, or proof of your eligibility for free or reduced lunch program. This allows Ruby Room to keep our free services and nonprofit status to continue benefiting teens.

  • If you do not meet the criteria for complimentary services, you are still invited in to shop the boutique. A small donation will help us keep the doors open.

  • Teens must provide their name and contact information.

  • Teens may select one garment, as well as related accessories if available.

  • Teens must make an appointment and arrive on time. Cancellations accepted 24 hours or more prior to the appointment date and time.

  • Appointments run, on average, one hour. Please arrive a few minutes early and on busy days you may need to budget time to wait.

  • Keep your entourage to a minimum to respect other Ruby Room clients. Each teen is permitted to bring one person with them to shop in the boutique.

  • No food is permitted during styling services to help keep our garments clean.

  • Dresses in certain size categories are in limited supply. Our inventory ranges in dress sizes 0-30. We will do everything we can to accommodate everyone, however, receiving a dress is not guaranteed. We do think it is worth a visit even if you are concerned about the size of our inventory. Our stylists will do their best to find all the options available to each client.

“Prom is important because it is one of the last things you do in high school.  It’s second best to graduation!  I just want to have fun with my friends before we go our separate ways and I never dress up!  This will be special!”

- Maggie, Ruby Room client
